New DIPA and Sundays!

Wake up, it’s Double IPA release day! At 4 PM today we’re tapping Snip Snap, which is 7.9% ABV and chock-full of Citra and Galaxy (double-dry-hopped with 4.4 lbs per barrel). The resulting flavor is juicy, tropical, citrusy, with a hint of vanilla from our favorite English yeast. It’s our first beer name inspired by The Office, seemed appropriate given our names are Michael and Scott. You can also drink it at Downtown Crown Wine and Beer in Gaithersburg tonight along with five of our other beers, or Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore tomorrow as part of their Rare & Obscure Fest!

To accompany Snip Snap, we have kegs of two variants (Cheater Hops Nelson-Mosaic with fresh grapefruit zest and Little by Gose). Yesterday we released 8980 Rt. 108, an American hefeweizen (with pineapple-tinged Denali hops). It has a surprising malt backbone thanks to a new barley variety (Full Pint) which makes it substantive enough for colder weather despite its session-beer strength. Tasting room taplist.

In other exciting news, we received our Howard County liquor license last week! As a result, starting this weekend we’re adding Sundays to the tasting room schedule! As an added bonus for this first Sunday, Mike will be leading brewer’s tours at 1 and 3 PM to walk you through the step-by-step process from grain-to-glass for Snip Snap. Otherwise it’ll be similar to Saturdays, open noon to 10 PM with food trucks scheduled from early-afternoon through early-evening. Next week is Thanksgiving, so we won’t be open Thursday… but we will be open for Thanksgiving’s Eve (11/21) from 4-10 PM. All growler fills will be $1 less than usual ($2 off the list price for those in the Founder’s and Sap clubs). If you’re looking for a beer to share with your friends and family, we’re releasing a special version of Light & Beauty with cranberries and hibiscus that day!
